Indian Railways is gearing up to revolutionize travel experiences with the upcoming launch of a “Super App,” anticipated for release in December 2024. This all-in-one app aims to simplify train travel by offering passengers a single platform to handle a variety of tasks, including ticket booking, platform pass purchases, PNR status tracking, live train updates, and even in-app food ordering. By integrating these features, the app will eliminate the hassle of toggling between multiple websites and applications for different services.
Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), this Super App combines IRCTC’s core functionalities with advanced tracking and catering systems, creating a seamless digital assistant for travelers. With this app, passengers can manage all their travel needs in one place, streamlining services that were previously scattered across multiple apps like IRCTC Rail Connect, IRCTC eCatering Food on Track, Rail Madad, the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS), and the National Train Enquiry System.
